Mia and I are volunteers for a group called Sharing Parents. It is a support group for parents who have lost babies. This group was and still is an instrumental part of how we coped with the loss of our son Leo. We continue to participate in this group to honor him.
Our meetings are held by volunteers and our location of our meeting is donated; but the money we raise are used for supplies, continued outreach, misc overhead, and our event October Memorial.
So you must be wondering why I send you, a member of the Southport Chiropractic group this message. Well, one of the major principles of wellness that I preach in my office is the reduction of the three different stresses; Physical stress, chemical stress, and emotional stress.
Emotional stress is one of the more difficult stresses to reduce; everybody's stress is different. Often times, it takes a lot of work to reduce emotional stress. One thing that has worked for me is my Leo band. When we lost Leo in October 2006, with the help of my sister, Corina, we made blue bands that said APPRECIATE LIFE DAILY LJO (Leo Joseph Omega). These were given out to the many people who supported us during this time. I have worn my Leo Band everyday since then.
It doesn't reduce my stress by paying my bills or making people drive better on the road, but when I look at it, it does offer me a chance to have achieve a perspective that is more productive and not so negative (which would ultimately cause harmful health side effects).
So, I do have a few more Leo Bands left over that I would like to give to you for your donation of $5 to Sharing Parents. You can go to www.sharingparents.org and click under "Donations" on the Fundraising tab. Once you have donated your money, please email me your address so I could then send you your Leo Band. It is also important to let me know, when you do, I can send another message when I run out of the bands.
I appreciate your support for Sharing Parents. If you have any questions regarding the process or Sharing Parents itself, please, email me or call me at 916.952.7824.
Be Well and God Bless!
