One day a practice member, who asked to remain anonymous, came up to me and asked how she can tell her chiropractic story, because she figured that there are man people like her who suffer needlessly. I told her , since you don't see chiropractic commercials on TV, the best way she can share with others is through a testimonial. The following is what she wanted to share.
Why try a chiropractor?? Why even think about giving it a chance? Well, I'm twenty-four, I've been in two car accidents and I can give you over five hundred reasons why.
I will start by saying the first four hundred reasons for me are pills. The pills I was pumped up on everyday just to get by. The pill that made all the pain go away. Not only did they take all the pain away, them all the stress and problems in life seem ok.
It started out slowly, slow enough that I didn't notice the problems I would lead myself to. I was getting horrible headaches and neck pain. I had seen a chiropractor a few times but I thought, "Why should I pay out of my pocket when I have medical coverage?"
So I went to the "doctor". I left his office with no real answers, just pills. They covered everything up great. About six months later I was up to four, five pills a day and I started noticing I felt like I was slipping away from reality. Happy when I had them, but not myself anymore. I couldn't sleep; sometimes I didn't eat for a few days. I was deeply depressed. It seems as though I need those pill just to do any normal activity. After a while I didn't want to get out of my bed. Some days I didn't bother.
My parents kept calling me, hoping that I would follow their advice and do anything I could try and get better. That's when the Chiropractor was mentioned. I didn't have anything to lose, at least it would force me to get out of bed and get dressed.
Dr. Omega came to mind since I had seen him before. He did listen and he told me last year all about the care I needed. But he was a Chiropractor. Someone I now wish I had listened to a year ago. Insurance won't cover it. It's probably cheaper to prescribe pills to cover the problems. After a few weeks I noticed I could do things, I felt better and I could start to see the big picture again. I'm still taking it easy, but let me be the first to say I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I look forward to living my life again.
Dr. Omega has not only allowed me to do that but I can also say he has had such a good impact on my situation. Everyone in his office is great. They always greeted me with a smile and made me feel welcome, even wearing slippers and my hair was all over the place! It's nice to find people who really care and understand.
Now I know things don't get better over night, BUT they do get better.... IF YOU'RE IN THE RIGHT HANDS!!
